Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 August 2026
Strata Jam is a small, for-fun experiment in collaborative live-coded music. The short version of this policy: we collect as little as we can get away with, and we don't do anything commercial with it.
What we collect
- What you contribute. The patterns, code, song names, branches and edits you create in Strata Jam are stored on our server, because storing them is the entire point — otherwise your work would vanish when you closed the tab.
- Basic profile information from Google or GitHub, and only if you choose to sign in with one of them. That means your display name and the provider's stable account identifier. We use it solely to build your local Strata Jam profile, so your contributions are attributed to you and you can find them again later.
What we don't collect
Beyond the two things above, nothing. We do not read your email, your repositories, your files, your contacts or your calendar. We do not ask any provider for permission to post, commit, or send anything on your behalf. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and we do not build advertising profiles.
What we do with it
We use it to run the site: to show you your work, to attribute contributions correctly, and to keep you signed in between visits. That's it. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with third parties.
Where it lives
Data is stored in our own infrastructure on Amazon Web Services. Sign-in is handled by Google or GitHub directly, so your password is never sent to us — we never see it and could not store it if we wanted to.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete your profile and everything you've contributed, and we will. Because this is a hobby project, do it by contacting whoever pointed you at this site — there is no support desk to file a ticket with.
Changes
If we start collecting something new, this page changes first. Given that Strata Jam is an experiment, that is entirely possible.
One honest caveat
This is an experimental project with no uptime or durability guarantees. We try to keep your work safe, but you should not treat Strata Jam as the only copy of anything you care about. See the terms of service.
